Step 2 = Read the Article and Take Content Notes.
After reading the article, take a few minutes to make notes on the authors purpose and five to seven major points (or take-aways) from the article.

Step 3 = Analyze the Surface Features of the Article
Look through each article, and Take notes on the characteristics of the trade journal. Focus on authors credentials, advertisements, , sentence lengths, special word choices, paragraph lengths, and visuals. How are all of these characteristics different from a scholarly journal article?
